ABOUT THE NLPOA:
The goal of our organization is to promote equality in law enforcement. Our
objectives are to create a professional association in which members advance
education, and mentor with a strong commitment to community service. The
Sacramento chapter maintains an academic scholarship program and support
programs that are youth oriented. The NLPOA is an organization which has
chapters throughout the United States.
ELIGIBILITY requirements are the following:
The applicant must be enrolled in a college or university, in the Sacramento
area.
The applicant must have a declared major or minor in a criminal justice program.
The applicant must have attained a grade point average of 2.0 during the
academic year. The applicant must complete and submit the NLPOA Academic Scholarship Award
Program.
Scholarships are awarded once a year, at our annual awards event dinner - if funds are
available. Awards are between 500 and 1,000 dollars each depending on
fundraising results. Applications will be reviewed by a committee and you will
be notified of eligibility.
